    DIABEETUS. Americans are terrified of it. lol

    I’ve always wanted to watch/read Puella Magi Madoka Magica ever since I saw an awesome AMV at a con a couple years ago but I’ve been so stingy with my money. I did glance through it last week at Barnes & Noble but put it down because some kids were no-so-subtly crowding me to get to the Naruto manga.

    Going to Cherry Blossom Festival activities here today!  It’ll be a taste of Japan before going to Japan! :D  The sakura aren’t fully out, but there will be exhibits, crafts, and fireworks!

    My guy’s stepmother is a vegetarian that eats fish, but I never even considered that there was an official name for it.

    I’m going to both!  Diabetes inducing dessert buffet?  Getting the opportunity to eat fresh takoyaki and okonomiyaki in Osaka? Yes please!

    I swear I’m coming home with a souvenir of 10 extra pounds.  So excited for food.

    I was torn on an answer for the “you’re sending your friend a link” survey question… “Never Gonna Give You Up” is my ringtone, so every time I get a call, I Rickroll everyone around me.  But I did choose the 4chan answer, because I have a 4chan sense of humor.

    I prefer Linneus and Gilder to Linneus and Atros.  Gilder comes across as a big lovable oaf who ‘cuts trees and stuff’.   Atros makes things too complicated with his being-married-affair-having-selfish butt.  I’m sure I’m opening a can of worms there…  :P  But I’m excited to see if/when anything happens between Sacha and Gilder.

    Nothing like a good food/travel/roommate survey to really make you sit and reflect on yourself, haha.

    And if we’ve still got Takarazuka on the itinerary, it appears that Rose of Versailles: Fersen will be the show at the Takarazuka Grand Theater (correct me if I’m wrong).

    I’m on a majority of the social networking sites because I’m a sheep like that.  Mainly because most of my friends are online and live far away.  You can find me on most of them as ‘penultimateokgo’ if anyone wants to add me.  I check facebook/twitter every morning like people check the newspaper.  It’s where I get most of my news, haha.

    Mmm I love the new Teahouse page.  Rhys and Axis are my favorite pairing.  Talk about forgetting your troubles.

    I have a feeling that this next month is going to fly by.  I’ve been working on getting in better shape for the trip so I won’t be suffering from all of the walking we’ll be doing.

    I’m huge into video game slash.  Mainly SquareEnix related.  And Dissidia opened up an entirely new world of Final Fantasy crossover fics, oy. Anyone ever read xenobia’s FF7 fics?  They’re amazing.

    I also love creating/reading original slash, because the authors/artists can do whatever they want with their characters/world without having to stick to a preconceived universe, which is why I love Teahouse.

    Emirain posted a teaser pic from Ch 4 on their tumblr.  And probably one of the most ‘revealing’ teasers ever.  I see what you’re grabbing onto right there Rhys!  and oh that special edition tempts me so… maybe if they have some extras after the trip… 750 copies won’t sell that fast… will they? D:

    I’m a bit of a hermit myself.  I’m very socially awkward and don’t always think it out before I speak, but I like making jokes and doing silly things to make people laugh and break the ice.

    I think all of us having a main similar interest is the key here.  I have trouble opening up to strangers and my coworkers because I feel like I’m living a secret life being all “I like boys kissing” over here.  We’re already past that stage!  There are no secrets!  Bring on the dick jokes!

    @Amaya928
     I saw that post on tumblr too… Wah!  I want them to finish Teahouse before they start on anything else.  I can’t even think of another BL story I’d want to read.  Maybe something magical/involving magic!

    Happy 1st day of Spring Northern Hemisphere-ians!  Hoping to do some of my own Hanami here in Washington D.C.  Peak bloom is predicted April 3-6!

    @maddymoonchild
     you should contact PacSet for the info; they sent it out back in January and I know you joined fairly recently.  And there was a (really awesome) change in the Tokyo hotel announced on March 14th.

    I haven’t received a roommate survey yet, but I assume those will go out as we get closer to the departure date.  E-mails from Pacset are like presents. I’m always excited to open them and see what’s inside, haha.

    Yay for all the Gackt fans!  Maybe some Gackt karaoke is in order, haha.

    I’m watching “19 Kids and Counting: Tokyo Japan” on TLC right now.  It’s pretty funny.  But I think I know better than to yell “DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?” at random people.

    I’m not sure myself what to budget for souvenirs.  I really have no wish list of must have items (this might fly out the window if we make it to the SquareEnix Artnia store – Sephiroth or Cloud Eau de Toilette please).  My main focus on this trip is food and taking LOTS of pictures!

    @maddymoonchild
    Were you talking about Minato-ku Tokyo or Minato-ku, Osaka?  If it’s Tokyo it’s pretty convenient because the hotel is in Minato :)

    @Alyssa Jennings – Tokyo Sky tree is the tallest tower in the world (and 2nd tallest structure in the world).  I imagine the views from it are incredible.   In regards to your Zack infatuation: you. are. awesome! :D

    I was anticipating the Ch 4 release to be long before the trip, but if it could just wait a few more weeks :X haha.

    @maddymoonchild
    I’d love to see Tokyo Sky Tree.  The best day to see it would be when we’re in Asakusa because it’s just across the river but who knows if there’s time.

    Whew, glad I’m not the only one who was devastated at the end.  Crisis Core was like meeting an attractive charming  guy, getting to know him, starting a relationship, falling in love… and then… and then…

    Oh I love Tsundere!Axis….    “…I didn’t fix it cuz I like you or anything…” *blushblush*  *glareglare*

    I can’t wait for Ch 4 to be released.  I usually get the special editions but I SHOULD save that $$$ for the trip.

    @Alyssa You’re not alone when it comes to Homestuck.  I don’t get it either.

    @maddymoonchild
    The Showcase closed last November, but they reopened a cafe in Shinjuku called Artnia that features SquareEnix themed foods and also has a shop and a gallery.

    …I just wanna know what they did with that life-sized Sephiroth that was in the Showcase…

    Not so much an anime/manga but a video game that made me sob.  The end of Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core made me cry for hours and it affected me for days afterwards.  And the silliest part is I already knew what was going to happen at the end, so I wasn’t surprised.  But it was still so sad!

    @Moonwitch – Unfortunately, I’m very far from the area :P I’m all the way over in Northern Virginia.

    I love Hana Kimi!  I love the manga as well as the live action drama.  But my all time favorite manga/anime/drama series is Hana Yori Dango (totally old school).  I was a little sad when I found out the tour wasn’t going to Atami anymore, because the main characters have their first kiss there.

    I used to be way into the cosplay scene, but it involved a lot of what I didn’t have… time and money.  Then I got into volunteering and staffing behind the scenes at cons for a little while.  Now I just go to the occasional area con to see friends and actually go to panels and watch anime.  Still love dressing up and wearing wigs though (Hence my userpic) :)

    @maddymoonchild omg me me, I would love to go searching for TWEWY landmarks in Shibuya.  Some of my main goals are to take pictures with Hachiko and the Moyai statue and go shopping in Shibuya109 :D  And I’ll have my player pins on me too, haha.  /nerdingout

    I love SquareEnix games too, though I haven’t been able to play any of the recent ones due to saving all of my spending money for this trip.

    Oh wow, February is already over!  I need to do my taxes too eventually.  I was all gung-ho about  doing them until I realized that my job didn’t take out state taxes, so I owe :(   But I’ll get some federal for spending money

    I’m not worried about finding any wifi.  No point in going on a dream vacation to worry about what’s happening on Facebook or tumblr and I ABSOLUTELY want to avoid checking my work e-mail while I’m gone.

    Not to mention we shouldn’t have to worry about checking for a Teahouse update :P

    I’m just bringing my Kindle for reading and reference material for the long trips.  I’m ready to immerse myself in the country, culture, and cuisine!

    Has anyone else played the DS game The World Ends With You?  That game made me obsessed with Shibuya :D

    We’ve got such a diverse group of people coming on this trip, that’s so awesome :D

    I could never spend the night in a terminal again after missing my flight out of Seattle after Penny Arcade Expo years ago.

    Mmm I love ice wine and late harvest wines.  I’m excited to try different sake and Japanese beer and maybe see if I can try some of that Hoppy I keep hearing about, just because I can.

    @Einatsu
    – I think they’re referring to the Teahouse logo (A for Atros)
